I vowed the minute I got back into civilization with internet access, I would write this to warn others considering a trip here for a meal.

Over the coming weeks, we have realized the other local establishments are busy with local customers, and the Asian Station gets the unsuspecting tourist walk ins.

Lastly their pricing is affordable despite the location being a tourist area

We found the Asian Station to be a chaotic mixture of American treats (hamburgers & fries & ice cream) and westernized Chinese food with combo style specials (ie. fried rice, lemon chicken, sweetandsour pork, average Asian fare). Although the exterior of the building looks really nice, the inside of the restaurant is an eye sore and not very well kept. We went against our best senses and decided to give it a go, at my son's insistence for a hamburger at the Asian Station (?)(!)

The dishes cater to the Asian style of cooking which is more than just the Chinese style. In addition, for those who are looking for western style dishes, they have that there as well !

We were the only customers. Took about 3 minutes for anyone to notice. Gave is menus and seated ourselves. About 10-15 minutes passed before anyone came to see what we wanted. Got our water about 10 minutes later and the server was in pajama pants. The food came awhile later and was ok but not really good. The portions were small. No one came until about 20-30minutes after we were done eating. Would not recommend this place.

I found the servers argumentative and rude. The girl greeting us was unfriendly and pointed us to find a seat ourselves. After the server took our order he refused to provide us with fried rice without egg. I explained that I am allergic to egg and he still insisted that he had to serve us egg fried rice. Very uncomfortable and unfriendly. It was also very dirty with food on most chairs. We ended up leaving and going to a much better restaurant down the block.

Their combo menus are a nice mix of meat and veggies on top of fried rice and chow mein

There are other places around the lake side which are much better, including value for taking a family out for dinner.

Bottom line. My wife told me after leaving that she discovered two long blonde hairs in our son's food. Quite perplexing as we were sitting in an (quasi) Asian restaurant.. My wife, being the polite Canadian, did not want to raise a fuss....

However, we ordered items off both the Asian and Anglo side of the menus. My best advice is to stick with the Chinese side of the menu if you choose to dine at the Asian Station. We found our burgers were simply unacceptable, our buns over saturated with sauce (ie. ketchup/mustard, relish) and not every well presented. The fries were cold and the burgers were under cooked and slimy.

Although our Asian dishes (i.e. noodles, and fried rice) were somewhat better but not good enough. Portions were below average and quality of service was sub-standard.

Overall Failure - An experience of two hairs discovered. Having recently moved to the lake during the summer, we decided to pay a visit and find out what this restaurant was about. Looking back, it was a bad mistake and terrible decision, especially with the other great eateries around the lake.
